Eliana (played by Melinda K. Allen)--Ship's Counselor, USS Melbourne.
Approximate age, 26.  Short, about 5 feet tall; shoulder length, black, curly
hair; grey eyes with blue flecks.  She is from the planet Xavion, which she
left about 9 years before joining the Melbourne crew.  Believing her husband
dead, she pursued a life in the Federation.  Her training as a Smarag (Xavionite
priests are called Smarags, meaning "bearer of the Emerald") especially suited
her to her role as a counselor.  Recently, Eliana was blinded in a successful
attempt to rescue her husband, Aren, from an Anterean slave colony. 
Eliana and Aren have a strong telepathic link, but it was weakened for a long
time because Eliana was ill when leaving Xavion, and because they were so far
apart.  Eliana is also able, like Kabeta, to become a wolf.  Only Avenger,
Muirden, Kabeta and Aren know of this.  
Finally, Eliana is currently pregnant, and rumour has it Dr. Feelgood suspects
that she will have twins.
