-- Paleontology PhD thesis "Comparative Anatomy of Velociraptor Species
  of Earth and Kronos" garnered several awards and quite a bit of
  recognition in the Klingon Empire.  Unlike in Star Fleet, he is well
  respected aboard Klingon vessels (both for his discoveries and his
  martial abilities).  During his third year at the Academy, his Yale
  PhD advisor traveled with him to Kronos, where the excavated the first
  complete Klingon velociraptor skeleton.  The Klingon paleos nicknamed
  him toQ ("bird of prey") and taught him Klingon bat'lethjitsu,
  accepting him as one of their own.

  They also indicated that when it comes to predatory dinosaurs, he is just
  a bit too wrapped up in his work.

  disguise himself, just to prove he can fool people.  No one knows his true
  eye color...

-- He is one of the few people who can look Crossfire directly in the eye.
  He is also one of very few that has a chance (but only a chance) of
  overcoming Crossfire in personal combat.
-- Never does a great deal to endear himself to anyone.  He has been known

  unknown.  At times, he wields the power of a Star Fleet captain.
