The Crouton Generation Archives

Admiral T'Lilith is literally "The Best of Both Worlds" -- a fusion of
a Vulcan mother and a Klingon father. Family life was never the easiest
for her -- she never got along with her adamantly Klingon (culturally)
sister T'Kreila, her baby brother died at a young age due to genetic
defects, and her parents split shortly after T'Kreila's Age of Ascension.
Star Fleet Psych profiles suggest her decision to concentrate her study
in the field of genetics is in part due to a desire to cure her brother's
genetic disorder, which she believes was a product of a partial incompatibility
between Vulcan and Klingon genes. Her drive is fierce, fired by the Klingon
side, but tempered with Vulcan coolness and efficiency. The motto of her
personal transport pretty much sums it up: "Revenge is a dish which is
best served with logical efficiency and a nice side salad." She is rather
bothered by her Klingon temper, but it has been useful on occasion. Other
Vulcans (especially one Captain T'Prol) have a tendency to look down upon
her and her Klingon blood and emotions, but this simply drives her to work
that much harder at being the best geneticist in existence. Other Klingons
are somewhat superstitious in their fear of T'Lilith's mixed heritage,
for old research into mixed genetics Klingons suggested that Vulcan/Klingon
fusions would be the most calculating killers in the Universe, able to
take the reigns of the Empire away from true Klingons. Her honor is often
brought into question by this very same fear. T'Lilith sees herself more
as a Vulcan than a Klingon, so this doesn't completely bother her, but she
will defend her honor as would any true Klingon.

T'Lilith stands only 5'5", dwarfed by her husband, but she makes up for
it with her fierceness and determination. Her ears and eyebrows bear
the full points of her Vulcan heritage, while she also retains a rather
beautiful Klingon brow ridge above this. She keeps her light-brown hair
cut short, more like a Vulcan male, but her nose and cheek bones give her
a more elvish appearance than the ears ever could. Her parents are at a
loss for explanation of the nose. She can usually be found wearing a
Star Fleet Medical Officer's uniform and white lab coat, but she is known
to wear a variety of Vulcan robes, adorned with Klingon acoutriments,
when off-duty.

T'Lilith has mostly served as a Star Fleet Medical Officer during her
career, using every spare moment to make new advances in the field of
humanoid genetics. She has spent some time in recent years as an
instructor and lecturer and is now serving as the Star Fleet Surgeon
General's Chief Representative in the Large Magellanic Cloud. She
aspires to someday step into the role of Surgeon General of either
Star Fleet or the United Federation Alliance itself. Unlike most of
her fellow Klingons, her Vulcan blood has made her more amenable to
the Romulan alliance, though she still has a few qualms about the matter.

Despite her concentration in the medical sciences, T'Lilith has also won
several awards for bravery and valor in the field. Unlike the usual
medical officer, she takes a hands-on approach to any landing party
situation and her Klingon side will take over as needed. She *knows*
how to defend herself and in crisis situations can even man a ship's
tactical station with logical efficiency. Likewise, in hand-to-hand
combat, she is as proficient with the Vulcan Nerve Pinch as any Vulcan
and simultaneously proficient with a variety of Klingon hand-to-hand
weaponry.

Unlike her sister, who followed the Klingon way and was thus better liked
by their late father, T'Lilith mostly followed the Vulcan way, as her
mother set forward for her. Her mother's pride in her is spoiled only
by her own Klingon temper and its tendency to surface at the wrong time.

She first met Avenger near the end of her tour of duty aboard the _USS Pike_,
when he arrived as first officer. For some reason (the fact that they
were both racially outsiders, from he explained to her later), he
initiated with her a fast friendship that brought a new spark to her
life by taking her outside the lab and into the real world. Later,
when Avenger was assigned to Star Fleet Headquarters for the Borg
Action Committee, they restarted the friendship and she ignited a
romance, which eventually led to their marriage on Stardate 102154.
They are completely faithful to one another and plan to spend the rest
of their long lives with one another. The revelation of his alienhood
has not frightened her...in fact, his sharing has brought them closer
together, though she sometimes is angered by the secrets he still keeps.
One of her favorite qualities in him is his ability to rectify her two
halves in ways she has never before been able to find. He is also able
to make her laugh -- not an easy task on a Vulcan or a Klingon. They do
not plan to have children and they currently plan to continue their work
in the LMC for some time to come.

In an upcoming episode, T'Lilith will be awarded the Salk Prize for
a breakthrough in humanoid immunogenetics she discovered shortly after
taking the post as Commander of the Bemis Xenogenetics Research Center
five years before. The Salk Prize is the most prestigious award
available to any researcher in the fields of genetics and immunology,
outclassing even the Nobel Prize in Medicine. It is named after Dr.
Jonas Salk, the inventor of the polio vaccine, and is intended to
honor those that follow in his footsteps.
